In 1949 Los Angeles, the LAPD forms a secret police unit to take down crime boss Mickey Cohens criminal empire, facing obstacles like corruption and witness elimination, but ultimately succeeding in arresting Cohen and bringing an end to his reign of power. Gangster Squad is a 2013 American English-language Action Crime movie starring Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling, Nick Nolte, Emma Stone, Anthony Mackie, Giovanni Ribisi and Steven Samblis. The movie is based on Gangster Squad by Paul Lieberman. Village Roadshow Pictures was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Dan Lin, Michael Tadross and Kevin Mccormick. Gangster Squad is written by Will Beall and Paul Lieberman and it is directed by Ruben Fleischer. Warner Bros. Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Gangster Squad was released on 10th January 2013 and takes a screen time of 113 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Gangster Squad was made on a budget of $60 million and it was a hit at box office gross of $105 million. Cinematography was done by Dion Beebe and editing by Alan Baumgarten and James Herbert. The music was composed by Steve Jablonsky.
