Action Sci-fi Thriller
Astronauts, and their robotic dog AMEE (Autonomous Mapping Evaluation and Evasion), search for solutions to save a dying Earth by searching on Mars, only to have the mission go terribly awry. Red Planet is a 2000 English-language Action Sci-Fi motion picture featuring Val Kilmer, Carrie-anne Moss, Tom Sizemore, Benjamin Bratt, Simon Baker, Terence Stamp and Neil Ross. Village Roadshow Pictures was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Bruce Berman and Mark Canton. Red Planet is written by Chuck Pfarrer and Jonathan Lemkin and it is directed by Antony Hoffman. Warner Bros. Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. The film has a running time of 106 minutes. Red Planet was made on a budget of $80 million and at the box office it grossed only $33 million. Cinematography was done by Peter Suschitzky and editing by Robert K. Lambert and Dallas Puett. The music was composed by Graeme Revell.
