Operation Mekong

A merchant ship is attacked in the Mekong River Delta, causing the death of 13 individuals, and the subsequent discovery of a large amount of drugs prompts a joint investigation by Chinese authorities and law enforcement agencies from Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar, based on a true event from 2011. Operation Mekong is a 2016 Mandarin-language Action Adventure movie starring Zhang Hanyu, Eddie Peng, Joyce Wenjuan Feng, Baoguo Chen, Xudong Wu, Wu Linkai and Abdul Azim Bin Mohammed Aris. Bona Film Group was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Jianxin Huang. Operation Mekong is written by Kang Kei Chu, Dante Lam, Siu Kwan Lau, Eric Lin, Wai Ching Tam, Kang Ki-chu and Lau Siu-kwan and it is directed by Dante Lam. Distribution Workshop acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Operation Mekong was released on 6th October 2016 and takes a screen time of 124 minutes. The film made a box office gross of $173 million.
