Wu xia

In 1917 Republican China, an ordinary man named Liu Jinxi inadvertently kills a wanted bandit and attracts the attention of a detective who discovers Lius past as a member of a notorious group of warriors, leading to a series of conflicts involving betrayal, deception, and ultimately triumph. Wu xia is a 2011 Taiwanese Mandarin-language Action Crime film featuring Donnie Yen, Takeshi Kaneshiro, Tang Wei, Wei Tang, Jia-min Li, Wei Zheng and Jia-xian Zhao. We Pictures in association with Stellar Mega Films, Dingsheng Cultural Industry Investment, Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation and Yunnan Film Group. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Peter Chan and Jojo Hui. Wu xia is written by Aubrey Lam and Joyce Chan and it is directed by Peter Chan. We Distributions acquired the distribution rights for the film. Wu xia was released on 21st July 2011 and takes a screen time of 116 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Wu xia was made on a budget of $20 million and it was a hit at box office gross of $29 million. Cinematography was done by Lai Yiu-fai and Jake Pollock and editing by Derek Hui. The music was composed by Chan Kwong-wing along with Peter Kam and Chatchai Pongprapaphan.
