An Australian couple take a sailing trip in the Pacific to forget about a terrible accident. While on the open sea, in dead calm, they come across a ship with one survivor who is not at all what he ms. Written by Loring Holden Dead Calm is a 1989 English-language Horror Thriller film starring Sam Neill, Nicole Kidman, Billy Zane, Rod Mullinar, Joshua Tilden, George Shevtsov and Benji. The movie is inspired from Dead Calm by Charles Williams. Kennedy Miller was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Doug Mitchell, George Miller and Terry Hayes. The movie is directed by Phillip Noyce. Roadshow Entertainment acquired the distribution rights for the film. Dead Calm was released on 7th April 1989 and takes a screen time of 95 minutes. Dead Calm was made on a budget of $10 million and at the box office it grossed only $7 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Terry Hayes. Cinematography was done by Dean Semler and editing by Richard Francis-Bruce. The music was composed by Graeme Revell.
