The Stranger

After a freak mishap, an astronaut finds himself on an almost precise copy of Earth (right down to the Plymouth cars). However, this planet has three moons, and is run by an Orwellian government called The Perfect Order, who k out and crush all dissidents either by outright assassination or by having them treated at Ward E. Hunted and alone, the story traces the astronaut's efforts to evade capture and return home. Written by Leo L. Schwab The Stranger is a 1973 English-language Sci-Fi motion picture featuring Lee Van Cleef, Lo Lieh, Patty Shepard, Femi Benussi, Glenn Corbett, Cameron Mitchell and Peggy Stewart. Compagnia Cinematografica Champion in association with Harbor Productions, Shaw Brothers Studio and Midega Films. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Carlo Ponti. The movie is directed by Anthony Dawson. Columbia Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. The Stranger was released on 26th February 1973 and takes a screen time of 105 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. The Stranger was made on a budget of $9 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $82 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Giovanni Simonelli and Antonio Margheriti. Cinematography was done by Alejandro Ulloa and editing by Giorgio Serrallonga. The music was composed by Carlo Savina.
