Superman returns to Earth after searching for his home planet, only to find his arch enemy, Lex Luthor, causing chaos and kidnapping Lois Lane and her son, leading to a final battle where Superman triumphs and reassures Lois of his permanent return. The movie is based on Superman characters by Jerry Siegel Joe Shuster. Legendary Pictures in association with Peters Entertainment and Bad Hat Harry Productions. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Jon Peters, Bryan Singer and Gilbert Adler. Superman Returns is written by Michael Dougherty, Dan Harris, Bryan Singer, Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster and it is directed by Bryan Singer. Warner Bros. Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Superman Returns was released on 30th June 2006 and takes a screen time of 154 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Superman Returns was made on a budget of $270 million and it was a hit at box office gross of $391 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris. Cinematography was done by Newton Thomas Sigel and editing by John Ottman and Elliot Graham. The music was composed by John Ottman.
