Kumki

A film tells the story of a friendship between a mahout and his trained elephant, and their bond is tested when a wild elephant threatens the local villagers. Kumki is a 2012 Indian Tamil-language Drama Action movie starring Vikram Prabhu, Lakshmi Menon, Thambi Ramaiah, Ashvin Raja, Thambi Ramayya, Ashwin Raja and Vee Jenish. Thirupathi Brothers was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) N. Lingusamy and N. Subash Chandra Bose. The motion picture is written and directed by Prabhu Solomon. Studio Green acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Kumki was released on 14th December 2012 and takes a screen time of 148 mins. The Film was successful at box office. Kumki was made on a budget of ₹5 crore and it was a super hit at box office gross of ₹40 crore. Cinematography was done by M. Sukumar and editing by L. V. K. Doss. The music was composed by D. Imman. At the 2013 South Filmfare Awards It won 3 awards including: Best Supporting Actor (Thambi Ramayya), Best Music Director and Best Lyricist. At the 2013 It also won 3 awards including: Best Film, Best Comedian and Best Male Debutant.
