A group of young men join a historically Black fraternity at their university and endure intense hazing, but when one pledge is seriously injured, they stand together and realize the negative aspects of fraternity life. Burning Sands is a 2017 American English-language Drama motion picture featuring Trevor Jackson, Alfre Woodard, Steve Harris, Tosin Cole, Deron Horton, Christian Robinson and Beshoy Mehany. Mandalay Pictures in association with Homegrown Pictures, Hudlin Entertainment and Freedom Road Productions. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Stephanie Allain, Jason Michael Berman, Reginald Hudlin, Mel Jones, Camila Tanabe and Patrick Raymond. Burning Sands is written by Christine T. Berg, Gerard Mcmurray and Christine Berg and it is directed by Gerard Mcmurray. Netflix acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Burning Sands was released on 10th March 2017 and takes a screen time of 102 minutes. Cinematography was done by Isiah Dont Lee and editing by Evan Schrodek. The music was composed by Kevin Lax.

      With the exception of one brother who puts a stop to the hazing when it goes too far, the other brothers are little more than sadists, drunk on power.It seems like a missed opportunity if the adults in the movie are shown to be permissive and oblivious of a tradition that has gone in a horrible direction, there certainly could have been much more humanity shown in the perpetrators of the acts.
