The film Zulu portrays the Battle of Rorkes Drift during the Zulu War, where a small group of British soldiers successfully defends the missionary station against thousands of Zulu warriors. Zulu is a 1964 English-language Drama History film starring Stanley Baker, Jack Hawkins, Ulla Jacobsson, James Booth, Michael Caine, Nigel Green and Tony Snell. Diamond Films was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Stanley Baker and Cy Endfield. Zulu is written by John Prebble and Cy Endfield and it is directed by Cy Endfield. Paramount Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Zulu was released on 10th June 1964 and takes a screen time of 139 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office. Zulu was made on a budget of $1 million and it was a hit at box office gross of $2 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by John Prebble and Cy Endfield. Cinematography was done by Stephen Dade and editing by John Jympson. The music was composed by John Barry.
