A popular author named Sagar Sharma falls in love with a woman named Barkha, but faces various challenges including backlash for one of his books, an unhappy marriage, and a shocking revelation about his true relationship with Barkha, ultimately leading to a dramatic court room climax and a reunion with Barkha. Prem Shastra is a 1974 Indian Hindi-language Drama Romance film featuring Dev Anand, Zeenat Aman, Bindu Desai, Shekhar, Asit Kumar Sen, Rehman Khan and D.k. Sapru. Nalanda Pictures was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Amarjeet Singh. Prem Shastra is written by Laxmikant Shantaram Kudalkar, Pyarelal Ramprasad Sharma and B. R. Ishara and it is directed by B.r. Ishara and B. R. Ishara. Nalanda Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. Prem Shastra was released on 1st January 1974. Prem Shastra was made on a budget of ₹30 lakh and it was a hit at box office gross of ₹31 lakh. Cinematography was done by Faredoon Irani and editing by I. M. Kunnu. The music was composed by Laxmikant Shantaram Kudalkar along with Pyarelal Ramprasad Sharma and Laxmikant Pyarelal.
