A jobless graduate named Rohan moves to America after a suggestion from his former neighbor, befriends a Pakistani taxi driver who helps him settle in a hotel run by his neighbor and his wife, discovers their mistreatment of his parents and their involvement in a prostitution business, confronts them and eventually leaves to stay with the taxi driver, falls in love with a woman named Pooja, enters a green card marriage for financial reasons but realizes he loves Pooja and goes back to her, seeks forgiveness, and with the help of his supposedly dead wealthy father, they all decide to return to India, reuniting a broken family.
