Freddy and Nicholas resort to stealing and kidnapping in their financial difficulties, leading to a fight for a treasure map that they ultimately retrieve with the help of a friend, allowing them to reclaim their boat and sail away. Cheers Films was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Mohanlal and Century Kochumon. Orkapurathu is written by Shibu Chakravarthy and Ranjith Balakrishnan and it is directed by Kamal. Century Release acquired the distribution rights for the film. Orkapurathu was released on 13th April 1988. The screenplay for the movie was written by Shibu Chakravarthy. Cinematography was done by Vipin Mohan and editing by K. Narayanan. The music was composed by Ouseppachan.
