Two criminals, Albert Ganz and Billy Bear, escape and go to San Francisco, where Inspector Jack Cates teams up with Ganzs former partner, Reggie Hammond, who is temporarily released from prison, to track them down and recover stolen money, resulting in a series of encounters, shootouts, and ultimately the capture of Ganz and the safe return of Jack and Reggie to the prison. 48 Hrs. is a 1982 American English-language Action Comedy motion picture starring Nick Nolte, Eddie Murphy, Annette O toole, Frank Mcrae, James Remar, David Patrick Kelly and Robert Cole. Lawrence Gordon Productions was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Lawrence Gordon and Joel Silver. 48 Hrs. is written by Roger Spottiswoode, Walter Hill, Larry Gross, Steven E De Souza and Steven E. De Souza and it is directed by Walter Hill. Paramount Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. 48 Hrs. was released on 8th December 1982 and takes a screen time of 96 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office. 48 Hrs. was made on a budget of $12 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $78 million. Cinematography was done by Ric Waite and editing by Freeman A. Davies, Mark Warner and Billy Weber. The music was composed by James Horner.
