A chauffeur saves his employer from his wifes plan to kill him for his insurance claim, but after the employer commits suicide, the chauffeur and the wife fake a murder to claim the insurance money. Maharathi is a 2008 Indian Hindi-language Crime Drama film featuring Paresh Rawal, Naseeruddin Shah, Neha Dhupia, Om Puri, Boman Irani, Tara Sharma and Vivek Shaq. Nemo Films in association with DreamWorks Television , Amblin Television , Fox Television Studios , Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Dhillin Mehta. Maharathi is written by Sanjay Chhel and Uttam Gada and it is directed by Shivam Nair. 20th Television acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Maharathi was released on 5th December 2008. Maharathi was made on a budget of ₹9 crore and at the box office it grossed only ₹2 crore. Cinematography was done by Venu and editing by Aarti Bajaj. The music was composed by Shibani Kashyap.
