Chik geuk siu ji

A poor barefoot young man from the country arrives in the city to start work with the friend of his dead father, a manager at a dyeing workshop who is trained in Kung-Fu but has retired form the world of martial arts. The dye shop is owned by a kind woman who is being pressured by a local strongman who is trying to steal her family secrets for his own workshop. When the workshop is burnt down the barefoot kid decides to fight back using his impressive kung-fu skills, but just invites further trouble. Written by Brian Rawnsley Chik geuk siu ji is a 1993 Cantonese-language Action Drama movie starring Aaron Kwok, Maggie Cheung, Ti Lung, Jacklyn Wu, Lung Ti, Chien-lien Wu and Yat-fei Wong. Cosmopolitan Film was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Mona Fong. The movie is directed by Johnnie To. Newport Entertainment acquired the distribution rights for the film. Chik geuk siu ji was released on 3rd April 1993 and takes a screen time of 90 minutes. The film made a box office gross of $3 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Yau Nai-hoi. Cinematography was done by Horace Wong and editing by Wong Wing-ming.
