A former gang member named Jess Wade is lured into a trap set by his ex-lover Tracy and his old gang leader Vince Hackett, which leads to a shootout in a Mexican saloon where Jess manages to escape but gets captured by another gang member named Gunner and taken to their hideout; it is revealed that the gang has stolen a gold-plated cannon and framed Jess as part of the gang, leaving him branded and stranded until he captures a horse and trains it, for the gang plans to demand ransom from the town they stole the cannon from, resulting in Jess having to save the townspeople from his former gang.
