The Evil Dead is a 1983 American English-language Horror film starring Bruce Campbell, Ellen Sandweiss, Richard Demanincor, Betsy Baker, Theresa Tilly, Philip A. Gillis and Rob Tapert. Renaissance Pictures was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Robert Tapert. The film is written and directed by Sam Raimi. New Line Cinema acquired the distribution rights for the movie. The Evil Dead was released on 16th January 1983 and takes a screen time of 85 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released. The Evil Dead was made on a budget of $350 billion and at the box office it grossed only $2 million. Cinematography was done by Tim Philo and editing by Edna Ruth Paul. The music was composed by Joe Loduca.
