United Artists acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Black Rain was released on 22nd September 1989 and takes a screen time of 133 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Black Rain was made on a budget of $30 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $134 million. Cinematography was done by Jean Tournier and Walter Wottitz and editing by David Bretherton.
