In a dystopian version of the United States in 2016, a resource shortage and economic depression lead to the rise of railroads as the main mode of transportation, while CEO James Taggart refuses to take responsibility for a major accident and Dagny Taggart defies him by using a new metal called Rearden Metal, leading to political manipulations, business struggles, and a search for the mysterious creator of an abandoned motor prototype. Atlas Shrugged: Part I is a 2011 American English-language Drama Mystery movie featuring Taylor Schilling, Grant Bowler, Matthew Marsden, Edi Gathegi, Graham Beckel, Jsu Garcia and Tom Poole. The movie is inspired from Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. The Strike Productions was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) John Aglialoro and Harmon Kaslow. The movie is directed by Paul Johansson. Rocky Mountain Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. The film has a running time of 97 minutes. Atlas Shrugged: Part I was made on a budget of $20 million and at the box office it grossed only $4 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by John Aglialoro and Brian Patrick O Toole. Cinematography was done by Ross Berryman and editing by Jim Flynn and Sherril Schlesinger. The music was composed by Elia Cmiral.
