Archaeologist Basil Brown discovers a significant burial site during an excavation at Edith Prettys estate, but faces opposition and is later demoted before being recognized for his contribution alongside Edith at the British Museum. The movie is based on The Dig by John Preston. The Dig was Produced by Gabrielle Tana, Ellie Wood, Carolyn Marks Blackwood and Murray Ferguson. The movie is directed by Simon Stone.
