Rise Up is a journey into the heart of Jamaica - the island that gave birth to the worldwide cultural phenomenon of Reggae. In a society where talent abounds and opportunity is scarce, three distinct and courageous artists fight to rise up from obscurity and write themselves into the pages of history. With music and appearances by legends Lee Scratch Perry, Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare, and a slew of soon-to-be superstars, Rise Up follows artists in the dangerous streets, back alleys and crowded dance halls of Kingston and the countryside. Written by anonymous Rise Up is a 2009 American English-language Documentary film starring James Franco, Freida Pinto, John Lithgow, Brian Cox, Tom Felton, Andy Serkis and Ygo. The movie is based on Premise suggested by Planet of the Apes by Pierre Boulle. Chernin Entertainment in association with Dune Entertainment, Big Screen Productions and Ingenious Film Partners. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Peter Chernin, Dylan Clark, Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. Rise Up is written by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver and it is directed by Rupert Wyatt. 20th Century Fox acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. The film has a running time of 105 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Rise Up was made on a budget of $93 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $481 million. Cinematography was done by Andrew Lesnie and editing by Conrad Buff and Mark Goldblatt. The music was composed by Patrick Doyle.
