City of Ember is a 2008 American English-language Adventure Family movie featuring Saoirse Ronan, Harry Treadaway, Mary Kay Place, Bill Murray, Martin Landau, Toby Jones and Bernadette Dobbin. The movie is based on The City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau. Walden Media in association with Playtone. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Gary Goetzman, Tom Hanks, Steven Shareshian and Seth Hanchett. City of Ember is written by Caroline Thompson and Jeanne Duprau and it is directed by Gil Kenan. 20th Century Fox acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. City of Ember was released on 27th November 2008 and takes a screen time of 95 minutes. City of Ember was made on a budget of $55 million and at the box office it grossed only $2 million. Cinematography was done by Xavier P rez Grobet and editing by Adam P. Scott and Zach Staenberg. The music was composed by Andrew Lockington.
