An 18-year-old high school senior named Jo encounters a popular clique called The Plastics, becomes friends with Abby, and starts a new group called the Anti-Plastics; however, her relationship with her love interest, Tyler, is strained when she runs against the Plastics leader for Homecoming Court, and she is eventually framed for stealing homecoming charity money by Mandi, the leader of the Plastics, but Jo manages to prove her innocence by challenging Mandi to a football game with the help of her friends.
