Airline pilot Jed stays at the New York hotel where girlfriend Lyn is a singer. He s Nell in a window opposite his and they get chummy. When the girl she s baby-sitting, Bunny, enters Nell goes crazy and sends her to her room. She fantasizes that Jed is her long lost fiance. Jed comes to realize that Nell is than a little whacko. Written by Ed Stephan Dont Bother to Knock is a 1952 American English-language Drama Film-Noir movie featuring Richard Widmark, Marilyn Monroe, Anne Bancroft, Donna Corcoran, Jeanne Cagney, Lurene Tuttle and Olan Soule. The movie is based on Mischief 1951 novel by Charlotte Armstrong. Dont Bother to Knock was Produced by Julian Blaustein. The movie is directed by Roy Ward Baker. 20th Century Fox acquired the distribution rights for the movie. The movie has a running time of 76 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released. The film made a box office gross of $1 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Daniel Taradash. Cinematography was done by Lucien Ballard and editing by George A. Gittens. The music was composed by Lionel Newman.
