A blind Vietnam vet, trained as a swordfighter, comes to America and helps to rescue the son of a fellow soldier. Blind Fury is a 1990 American English-language Action Comedy movie starring Rutger Hauer, Terrance O quinn, Lisa Blount, Randall tex Cobb, Noble Willingham, Terry O quinn and Holly Cross Vagley. The movie is inspired from Zatoichi Challenged by Ry z Kasahara. Interscope Communications was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Tim Matheson and Daniel Grodnik. Blind Fury is written by Ryôzô Kasahara and Charles Robert Carner and it is directed by Phillip Noyce. TriStar Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Blind Fury was released on 17th August 1989 and takes a screen time of 86 minutes. The movie made a box office gross of $2 million. Cinematography was done by Don Burgess and editing by David A. Simmons. The music was composed by J. Peter Robinson.

While flawed in some respects, Blind Fury is an entertaining and exciting action romp that adapts the Zatoichi tale to the best of its ability and produces a fine eighties action film with Rutger Hauer doing a damn good job as a blind samurai. ( Read More )
