After a promiscuous and misogynistic man named Steve Brooks is killed by his former lovers, he is given a chance at redemption by being reincarnated as a woman named Amanda who must find true love to avoid going to Hell, leading to a journey of self-discovery, breaking free from societal norms, and ultimately finding peace in Heaven. Switch is a 1991 American English-language Comedy Comedy film featuring Ellen Barkin, Jimmy Smits, Jobeth Williams, Lorraine Bracco, Tony Roberts, Perry King and Bob Murphy. HBO Pictures in association with Cinema Plus. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Tony Adams. The film is written and directed by Blake Edwards. Warner Bros. acquired the distribution rights for the film. Switch was released on 10th May 1991 and takes a screen time of 103 minutes. Switch was made on a budget of $14 million and at the box office it grossed only $2 million. Cinematography was done by Dick Bush and editing by Robert Pergament. The music was composed by Henry Mancini along with Don Grady.

Its as if Edwards wanted to make a few observations about heterosexism and homophobia but couldnt figure out how to integrate them into the story, so he threw in a lesbian for good measure.The only redeeming thing in Switch is Barkins vulgar and adept physical performance of a man literally trapped in a womans body.
