Illuminati Films was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Saif Ali Khan and Dinesh Vijan. Love Aaj Kal is written by Imtiaz Ali and Irshad Kamil and it is directed by Imtiaz Ali. Eros International acquired the distribution rights for the film. Love Aaj Kal was released on 31st July 2009 and takes a screen time of 129 minutes. Love Aaj Kal was made on a budget of ₹58 crore and at the box office it grossed only ₹33 crore. Cinematography was done by Natarajan Subramaniam and editing by Aarti Bajaj and Imtiaz Ali. The music was composed by Pritam Chakraborty along with Salim Merchant, Sulaiman Merchant and Salim-sulaiman. At the 2010 IIFA Awards It won 2 awards including: Best Choreography and Best Costume Design. At the 2010 IIFA Awards It also won an award for Best Music Director.
