Childhood friends in India navigate love and conflict, with hidden secrets and machinations causing a temporary rift in their strong friendship, but ultimately reconcile. Friends is a 2001 Indian Tamil-language Drama Comedy film starring Ramesh Khanna, Vijayalakshmi, Joseph Vijay, Suriya Sivakumar, Devayani Rajakumaran, Abhinayashree and Satya Priya. The movie is inspired from Friends. Swargachitra was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Swargachitra Appachan. The movie is directed by Siddique. Vadivelu Corp. acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Friends was released on 14th January 2001 and takes a screen time of 167 minutes. The screenplay for the movie was written by Siddique. Cinematography was done by Anandakuttan and editing by B. Lenin and V. T. Vijayan. The music was composed by National Award winner Ilaiyaraaja.
