Yoshimi and her daughter Ikuko face supernatural occurrences in a rundown apartment where they discover the ghost of a missing girl, eventually leading Yoshimi to sacrifice herself to protect her daughter, and ten years later, Ikuko feels her mothers presence and realizes she has been watching over her. Dark Water is a 2001 Japanese Hindi-language Crime Drama motion picture featuring Hitomi Kuroki, Rio Kanno, Mirei Oguchi, Asami Mizukawa, Fumiyo Kohinata, Yu Tokui and Keir Macpherson. The movie is based on Dark Water by Koji Suzuki. Dark Water was Produced by Takashige Ichise. The movie is directed by Hideo Nakata. Toho acquired the distribution rights for the film. Dark Water was released on 31st December 2001 and takes a screen time of 101 minutes. The motion picture made a box office gross of $1 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Yoshihiro Nakamura and Kenichi Suzuki. Cinematography was done by Junichiro Hayashi and editing by Katsumi Nakazawa. The music was composed by Kenji Kawai.
