A recently slain cop joins a team of undead police officers working for the Rest in Peace Department and tries to find the man who murdered him. R.I.P.D. is a 2013 American English-language Action Adventure film featuring Jeff Bridges, Ryan Reynolds, Kevin Bacon, Mary-louise Parker, St Phanie Szostak, Stephanie Szostak and Kristin Kimiya. The movie is based on Rest in Peace Department by Peter M. Lenkov Lucas Marangon. Dark Horse Entertainment in association with Original Film and Relativity Media. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Neal H. Moritz, Mike Richardson and Michael Fottrell. R.I.P.D. is written by Phil Hay, Matt Manfredi, David Dobkin and Peter M. Lenkov and it is directed by Robert Schwentke. Universal Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. R.I.P.D. was released on 8th August 2013 and takes a screen time of 96 minutes. R.I.P.D. was made on a budget of $130 million and at the box office it grossed only $78 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi. Cinematography was done by Alwin H. K chler and editing by Mark Helfrich. The music was composed by Christophe Beck.

Its simply too generic at heart to justify director Schwentkes delirious, sidewinding, arcing, snap zooming and whip panning anti gravity camerawork.Time slice photography lets a virtual camera poke around in otherwise still images of explosions and gun battles; cool, in a Discovery Channel sort of way, but whatever. Violence is frequent but generally bloodless and cartoonish, with plenty of fake looking computer generated effects/creatures (some of whom may still be pretty scary for little kids) and lots of flipping cars and smashed buildings. ( Read More )
