Astro Boy

In a futuristic city, Toby Tenma is killed by a hostile robot, but is brought back to life as a defensive robot named Astro, who joins forces with orphaned children and other robots to defeat their captor and destroy a rampaging robot, ultimately saving the city from an extraterrestrial threat. Astro Boy is a 2009 English-language Animation Action film starring Freddie Highmore, Kristen Bell, Nathan Lane, Samuel L. Jackson, Nicolas Cage, Bill Nighy and Harry Shearer. The movie is based on Astro Boy by Osamu Tezuka. Imagi Animation Studios was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Maryann Garger and Kuzuka Yayoki. Astro Boy is written by Osamu Tezuka, David Bowers, Timothy Harris and Timothy Hyde Harris and it is directed by David Bowers. Summit Entertainment acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Astro Boy was released on 5th November 2009 and takes a screen time of 94 minutes. Astro Boy was made on a budget of $65 million and at the box office it grossed only $39 million. Cinematography was done by Pepe Valencia and editing by Robert Anich. The music was composed by Academy Award Oscar winner John Ottman.
