A group of researchers in Antarctica are faced with a deadly and shape-shifting alien creature that threatens their lives, leading to paranoia and a desperate decision to destroy their base and potentially sacrifice themselves. The Thing is a 1982 American English-language Mystery Horror motion picture starring Kurt Russell, Wilford Brimley, T.k. Carter, David Clennon, Keith David, Richard Dysart and Bill Lancaster. The movie is inspired from Who Goes There? by John W. Campbell. The Turman-Foster Company was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) David Foster and Lawrence Turman. The Thing is written by Bill Lancaster and John W. Campbell Jr. and it is directed by John Carpenter. Universal Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. The Thing was released on 25th June 1982 and takes a screen time of 109 minutes. The Thing was made on a budget of $38 million and at the box office it grossed only $31 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Bill Lancaster. Cinematography was done by Dean Cundey and editing by Todd Ramsay. The music was composed by Ennio Morricone.
