The movie is inspired from The Falcon and the Snowman: A True Story of Friendship and Espionage by Robert Lindsey. Hemdale Film Corporation was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Gabriel Katzka and John Schlesinger. The Falcon and the Snowman is written by Robert Lindsey and Steven Zaillian and it is directed by John Schlesinger. Orion Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. The Falcon and the Snowman was released on 8th February 1985 and takes a screen time of 131 minutes. The Film was successful at box office.
