After a failed marriage proposal, architect Steven Kovacs befriends a cable installer named Ernie Chip Douglas who begins to intrude on Stevens life, eventually leading to a series of events that strain their relationship and put Stevens girlfriend Robin in danger, but Steven ultimately saves Robin and ends his relationship with Chip.
