Romance Action Drama
A man named Murthy, who consistently takes the blame for others, goes to jail and is convinced by ex-collector Ramanathan to impersonate his son in order to save him from his enemies, ultimately leading to Murthy taking the blame for his sons murder and surrendering to the police. Star is a 2001 Indian Tamil-language Romance Action motion picture starring Raghuvaran, Vijayakumar, Praveen Gandhi, Anoop Aravindan, Jyothika Sadanah and Prashanth Thiagarajan. Sri Subajothi Movies was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Vijaykrishna. Star is written by Praveen Gandhi and Praveen Kanth and it is directed by Praveen Gandhi. Star was released on 27th July 2001 and takes a screen time of 168 minutes. Cinematography was done by Priyan and editing by M. N. Rajan. The music was composed by Ar Rahman along with A. R. Rahman.

The Star isnt a badly made film, but it is a fatally compromised one, affecting an air of wise cracking irreverence it can never bring itself to actually follow through on, presumably for fear of coming off sacrilegious and alienating its target market. ( Read More )
