A geneticist named Govindarajan Ramaswamy gives a speech about chaos theory and the butterfly effect, but soon finds himself caught up in a dangerous situation involving a bio-weapon and a pursuit by a former CIA agent, leading to an adventurous journey with a girl named Andal where they face obstacles, survive a tsunami, and eventually express their feelings for each other in front of an idol that was submerged centuries ago before Govind gives another speech and the credits roll with George Bush mentioned. Dasavathaaram is a 2008 Indian Tamil-language Action Adventure film featuring Kamal Haasan, Asin Thottumkal, Mallika Sherawat, Napoleon Duraisamy, Jaya Prada, P. Vasu and R. Sundarajan. Aascar Film Pvt. Ltd was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) D Ramesh Babu and V. Ravichandran. Dasavathaaram is written by Kamal Haasan and Atul Tiwari and it is directed by K.s. Ravikumar and K. S. Ravikumar. Aascar Film Pvt. Ltd acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Dasavathaaram was released on 12th June 2008 and takes a screen time of 185 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Dasavathaaram was made on a budget of ₹60 crore and it was a super hit at box office gross of ₹200 crore. Cinematography was done by Ravi Varman and editing by K. Thanikachalam. The music was composed by IIFA Award winner Himesh Reshammiya along with Devi Sri Prasad.
