In 1993, an alcoholic executive named Joe Doucett is locked in a hotel room for 20 years, working to escape and seeking revenge, until he finally succeeds with the help of a nurse named Marie, only to discover that his captor is also responsible for the kidnapping of his daughter Mia, leading to a deadly confrontation and the devastating revelation that Marie is actually his daughter. Oldboy is a 2013 American English-language Action Drama motion picture starring Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen, Sharlto Copley, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Imperioli, Pom Klementieff and Allyson Leigh Jordan. The movie is based on Oldboy by Hwang Jo-yun Lim Jun-hyung Park Chan-wook. 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks in association with Good Universe and Vertigo Entertainment. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Doug Davison, Roy Lee, Spike Lee and Nathan Kahane. Oldboy is written by Garon Tsuchiya, Nobuaki Minegishi and Mark Protosevich and it is directed by Spike Lee. FilmDistrict acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Oldboy was released on 28th November 2013 and takes a screen time of 104 minutes. Oldboy was made on a budget of $30 million and at the box office it grossed only $0 million.
