A Hindu woman named Vidya Lakshmi defies her family to marry a Muslim man, Shanavas, and despite facing hardships after Shanavass death, she struggles to take care of her daughter Laya and eventually becomes a doctor with the help of an empathetic auto driver named Preman, while also navigating pressure from Shanavass family and making a promise to return after getting a job in Kuwait.
