Premachandran, a carpenter, becomes involved in a complicated series of events involving a house construction, abusive relationships, disguise, arrest, reconciliation, a business tycoon, and ultimately marries Kanmani despite objections. Rasathanthram is written by Sathyan Anthikad and directed by Sathyan Anthikad and Sathyan Anthikkad. Central Pictures Release acquired the distribution rights for the film. Rasathanthram was released on 7th April 2006. The Film was successful at box office. Rasathanthram was made on a budget of ₹2 crore and it was a super hit at box office gross of ₹21 crore. The screenplay for the movie was written by Sathyan Anthikkad. Cinematography was done by Alagappan N. and editing by K. Rajagopal. The music was composed by National Award winner Ilaiyaraaja.
