Imaigal

The story follows a woman named Kasthuri who survives a sexual assault, becomes pregnant with the perpetrators child, and navigates the aftermath while exploring themes of consent, power dynamics, and resilience in the face of adversity. Imaigal is a 1983 Indian Tamil-language Drama movie starring Sivaji Ganesan, Sarath Babu, Sudarshan, Shivaji Ganesan, Saritha Chandrasekhar and Silk Smitha. Vivekananda Pictures was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Thiruppur Mani. The movie is directed by R. Krishnamoorthy. Vivekananda Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. Imaigal was released on 12th April 1983. The screenplay for the movie was written by Vinu Chakravarthy. Cinematography was done by N. Balakrishnan and editing by V. Chakrapani. The music was composed by Gangai Amaran.
