Virumandi

A civil rights activist named Angela Kathamuthu interviews prisoners in a prison for her PhD thesis against the death penalty, and she becomes involved in the story of Virumaandi, a man who seeks revenge after his lover commits suicide and he is framed for murders, leading to Angela helping him escape and presenting evidence for his clemency in court. Virumandi is a 2004 Indian Tamil-language Action Drama movie featuring Kamal Haasan, Rohini, Shanmugarajan, Nassar, Abhirami Suresh, Pasupathy Ramasaamy and Sai Dheena. Raaj Kamal Films International was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Chandra Haasan and Kamal Haasan. The film is written and directed by Kamal Haasan. Raaj Kamal Films International acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Virumandi was released on 14th January 2021 and takes a screen time of 175 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Virumandi was made on a budget of ₹10 crore and it was a super hit at box office gross of ₹40 crore. Cinematography was done by Keshav Prakash and editing by Ram Sudharsan and Kamal Haasan. The music was composed by National Award winner Ilaiyaraaja along with Ilayaraaja.
