Heavy Metal is a 1981 English-language Animation Adventure movie featuring Rodger Bumpass, Jackie Burroughs, John Candy, Joe Flaherty, Don Francks, Martin Lavut and Percy Rodrigues. The movie is based on Original art and stories by Richard Corben Angus McKie Dan O Bannon Thomas Warkentin Bernie Wrightson. Guardian Trust Company in association with Canadian Film Development Corporation, Famous Players and Potterton Productions. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Ivan Reitman. The movie is directed by Gerald Potterton. Columbia Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Heavy Metal was released on 7th August 1981 and takes a screen time of 90 minutes. Heavy Metal was made on a budget of $9 million and at the box office it grossed only $0 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Daniel Goldberg and Len Blum. Editing was done by Ian Llande , Mick Manning and Gerald Tripp. The music was composed by Elmer Bernstein.
