Gangobai

2013 Bollywood comedy drama film, produced by the National Film Development Corporation of India and directed by Priya Krishnaswamy.[2] It stars Sarita Joshi in the lead role as Gangoobai. The story is about an elderly maid servant who works hard to achieve her dream of an extremely expensive Gara sari and changes the lives of people she interacts with while in Mumbai to buy the sari. The film was premiered at MAMI 2012, in the New Faces in Indian Cinema section; the South Asian Film Festival in Canada; the Hanoi International Film Festival in Vietnam and the IFFI Gangobai is a 2002 Indian Hindi-language Action movie featuring Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, Shantanu Maheshwari, Prithvi, Satnam Kaur and Ishrat Ali. Bhansali Productions in association with Pen India Limited. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Jayantilal Gada. Gangobai is written by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Utkarshini Vashishtha and it is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Pen Marudhar Entertainment acquired the distribution rights for the film. Gangobai was released on 12th August 2002. Gangobai was made on a budget of ₹25 lakh and at the box office it grossed only ₹16 lakh. Cinematography was done by Sudeep Chatterjee and editing by Akiv Ali. The music was composed by Sawan Kumar Sawan along with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Sanchit Balhara and Ankit Balhara.
