Vyjayanthi Movies acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Farz was released on 12th January 2001 and takes a screen time of 178 min. Farz was made on a budget of ₹10 crore and it was a hit at box office gross of ₹11 crore. The screenplay for the movie was written by Sutanu Gupta.
