Apna Desh

A Hindu Punjabi girl survives the Partition riots, but faces rejection from her society and family, leading her to seek revenge through smuggling black-market ammunition disguised as musical instruments to Pakistan, until her relationship with another refugee called Satish becomes jeopardized and she ultimately turns herself in to the police. Apna Desh is a 1949 Indian Hindi-language Drama film starring Pushpa Hans, Umesh Sharma, Chandrashekhar, Manmohan Krishna, Keshavrao Date, Sudha Apte and Moolchand. Rajkamal Kalamandir was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Rajkamal Kalamandir. Apna Desh is written by Diwan Sharar and directed by Rajaram Vankudre Shantaram and V. Shantaram. Rajkamal Kalamandir acquired the distribution rights for the film.
