In 1934 New York, a man named Chris falls in love with a woman named Kitty who manipulates him to get money, and after she becomes a successful artist, he murders her and attempts suicide, while her real boyfriend is arrested and executed for her murder. Scarlet Street is a 1945 American English-language Drama Film-Noir film featuring Edward G. Robinson, Joan Bennett, Dan Duryea, Margaret Lindsay, Rosalind Ivan, Jess Barker and Loretta Russell. The movie is inspired from La Chienne 1931 novel and play by Georges de La Fouchardi re Andr Mou zy- on. Walter Wanger Productions in association with Fritz Lang Productions and Diana Production Company. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Walter Wanger and Fritz Lang. The movie is directed by Fritz Lang. Universal Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Scarlet Street was released on 28th December 1945 and takes a screen time of 102 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office. Scarlet Street was made on a budget of $1 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $2 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Dudley Nichols. Cinematography was done by Milton R. Krasner and editing by Arthur Hilton. The music was composed by Hans J. Salter.
