The Lunchbox

A woman in Mumbai tries to revitalize her marriage by cooking lunches for her husband, but the lunchbox gets delivered to a widower who she begins exchanging letters with, forming a close friendship, until they plan to meet and he doesnt show up, causing her to give up on her marriage and move to Bhutan, but he later changes his mind and returns to Mumbai, heading to her house with the lunchbox delivery person. The Lunchbox is a 2013 Hindi-language Drama Romance movie featuring Irrfan Khan, Nimrat Kaur, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Lillete Dubey, Nakul Vaid, Bharati Achrekar and Swapnil Shrirao. Filmation Associates in association with 20th Century Fox Television. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Anurag Kashyap, Arun Rangachari, Guneet Monga, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Lou Scheimer and Norm Prescott. The Lunchbox is written by Ritesh Batra, Vasan Bala, Don Christensen, Barry Gaines and Ken Sobol and it is directed by Ritesh Batra, Norm Mccabe and Hal Sutherland. Movie originally aired on ABC in Hindi. 20th Television acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. The Lunchbox was released on 27th March 2014 and takes a screen time of 30 minutes. The Lunchbox was made on a budget of ₹22 crore and at the box office it grossed only ₹20 crore. At the 2014 Filmfare Awards It won an award for Best Film.
