Edward Carnby and his girlfriend Aline must fight against a mysterious creature released from a coffin connected to the extinct Abkani tribe, using their knowledge of the tribes history and methods to defeat the creatures who can only be killed with light, in a mission to prevent them from taking over the world. Alone in the Dark is a 2005 English-language Action Horror movie starring Christian Slater, Tara Reid, Stephen Dorff, Frank C. Turner, Matthew Walker, Will Sanderson and John Ulmer. The movie is inspired from Alone in the Dark by Infogrames. Boll KG Entertainment in association with Herold Productions, Brightlight Pictures and Infogrames Entertainment. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Uwe Boll, Wolfgang Herold and Shawn Williamson. Alone in the Dark is written by Elan Mastai, Michael Roesch and Peter Scheerer and it is directed by Uwe Boll. Odeon Films acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Alone in the Dark was released on 28th January 2005 and takes a screen time of 96 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Alone in the Dark was made on a budget of $20 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $40 million. Cinematography was done by Mathias Neumann and editing by Richard Schwadel. The music was composed by Reinhard Besser along with Oliver Lieb, Bernd Wendlandt and Peter Zweier.
