A Roman centurion named Marcus sets out to recover his fathers lost eagle standard, encountering various challenges and ultimately delivering the eagle to the Roman governor in Londinium. The Eagle is a 2011 English-language Action Adventure movie featuring Channing Tatum, Jamie Bell, Donald Sutherland, Mark Strong, István Göz, Bence Gerö and Seb Muirhead. The movie is based on The Eagle of the Ninth by Rosemary Sutcliff. Toledo Productions in association with Film4 Productions and DMG Entertainment. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Duncan Kenworthy. The Eagle is written by Jeremy Brock and Rosemary Sutcliff and it is directed by Kevin Macdonald. Focus Features acquired the distribution rights for the film. The Eagle was released on 31st March 2011 and takes a screen time of 114 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. The Eagle was made on a budget of $25 million and it was a hit at box office gross of $35 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Jeremy Brock.
